The mission was to elevate the seasonal story of trail running, specifically in the jungles of southern Mexico.
The goal was to capture the immersive, sensory experience of trail running and translate it into a hero AOP for the season.
For inspiration, I went on a trail run, focusing on the sensory details: the sound of feet on the ground, bird calls, the scent of trees and soil, the feel of rocks and roots, and the sunlight casting shadows through the canopy.
The intricate shadows inspired the direction of the print.
I realized that to authentically capture the spirit of southern Mexico, I needed shadows from a tropical canopy, not from Cypress and Douglas firs.
I organized an inspiration trip to the Bloedel Conservatory in Vancouver, filled with tropical and exotic plants, to capture the perfect shadows.
The result was a hero AOP that elevated the seasonal story, embraced in two striking colorways across multiple styles.
This creative journey remains one of my most cherished, influencing how I approach conceptual development and exploration.
